Porcelain Queen Archives | No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation | #6

Today I'm back with another post from my Archives series, I love writing these posts as I enjoy reading the original review and seeing if I still feel the same way about the product now, I also like to see how I am progressing with my blog photography.

For today's post I'll be looking back at my once favourite No 7 Beautifully Matte foundation and seeing if I still feel the same. You can read the original review below

Original No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation Review Here

This foundation marks the breakup between me and MAC, before purchasing this foundation I hadn't used a drug store foundation in years and was happily plodding along with MAC after MAC foundation. And still to this day I do not own a single MAC foundation.

This foundation suits my skin type perfectly, it's mattifying on my oily T-Zone, it provides good coverage and it's long lasting. I knew straight away that I loved this foundation - it looks beautiful for everyday wear and evening wear - it does however have an SPF of 15 so it doesn't photograph all that great.

I haven't worn this foundation in a while simply because it is slightly too dark for my complexion at the minute, I have shade Warm Ivory, but when summer comes and I have a slight tan it'll be perfect.

I've only ever paid full price once for this product and that was when I first bought it, No 7 constantly have offers on so I always picked up 3-for-2 or used a £5 off voucher. I think in total I'm on my seventh bottle!

Have you tried this foundation? What were your thoughts?

  1. Next time I get one of those No7 vouchers I definitely ant to try out their foundation match service and get my hands on the one that suits my skin best. I think this might be too matte for my dehydrated skin but I love that they have so many great options x

  2. I love the idea of re-reviewing something that you used ages ago, interesting to see that you still love it! I've never tried it and am currently using Mac, but may revert to this when I need a drugstore one! Thanks for sharing x

  3. I bet you wont get one for ages now - you always get bombarded with them when you don't need them then you don't see them for months when you want one! xo

  4. Its such a good foundation I really love it :) I used MAC for such a long time, but I don't own any MAC foundations now, I find them really thick and pore clogging compared to others :) I really need to pick this up in my current shade, probably -1 :') xo

  5. This was the first liquid foundation I ever bought about 6 years ago. I'm super oily and it's just not cutting it anymore. I've just bought Double Wear but that's not doing a great deal better. I love this no7 one though, the pale shade for me is perfect (Calico) :)

  6. Aww no that's a shame! Have you tried the Smash Box Photofinish Primer (Light) its such a great primer for oilier skin I swear by it :) I need to pick up the lighter shade, the one I have is the second lightest shade but it's too warm for me atm.
