Products I've Used Up - Would I Repurchase? | #2

There is nothing more satisfying than using up makeup beauty products, but would you repurchase them?

L'Oreal True Match Powder // £8.19
I love this powder for setting my foundation, I do not set my concealer with this as it darkens the colour and defeats the purpose, but for setting my foundation it works incredibly. I've already repurchased this powder and making quite a dint in it.

Urban Decay Primer Potion // £16
I have so many of these primers laying around from all the palettes I have purchased over the years, and finally I managed to use an entire tube. This is the first primer I ever used and I have always loved it, I still have a few in the original packaging. I wont be repurchasing this any time soon because I have around five or six more waiting to be used.

Boots Simply Sensitive Hydrating Eye Cream // £3.49
This is my favourite day eye cream, this is my second tube and I already have a repurchase still in its box waiting to be used. The formula is light weight and it soaks in rapidly leaving your delicate under eyes smooth and hydrated. I have extremely sensitive under eyes, This is one of only four skin care products I can use around my eyes without them burning and become painfully sore. I highly recommend this even if you do not have sensitive under eyes, because the formula is amazing.

Clinique High Lengths Mascara // £17.50
I love this mascara, more for the bottom lashes than the top as it has a comb wand which really seperates and lengthens your lashes, but I find it can sometimes weigh the top lashes down especially if it's a new tube. I haven't repurchased this as I have another one on the go and once that's run out I'll be trying the Bottom Lash Mascara.

JoJoba Oil // £5.00
This is one of my favourite carrier oils, I use it all the time when I oil my hair for a deep condition. It works amazingly with coconut, lavender and camomile for a nourishing and deeply hydrating hair mask. I have this on order at the minute from my favourite natural and organic online shop.

Clinique All About the Eyes // £42
This is my holy grail night eye cream I love the thick creamy formula and how nourshing it feels on my skin. I only used this at night as it takes a heck of long time to soak in so I found it suited better in my night time skin care. I havn't repurchased this eye cream as it's so damn expensive and its the only night eye cream I've ever used so I'm trying a few out at the minute to see whether there's cheaper alternatives.

Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara // £17.50
I always coat my lashes with asingle coat of this after applying my trusty YSL Shocking, it hold my curl in place all day and prevents any pesky transfer. I repurchased this a couple of weeks ago as I was worried I might run out and be without it. I'm sure there are hundreds of waterproof mascaras that do they exact same job but I know this works and I love it so I will always repurchase.

That's it for my recent product empties - I ran out of a lot of Clinique products at the same time!

Spring Makeup Must Haves | Complexion

Winter is finally behind us and summer is looking more reality and less dream like. Today I want to share with you my make up must haves for Spring - now's the time to break out the pastels and going to town with highlighter.

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation // £11.99
This foundation will suit any skin type, its a semi matte finish which when blotted will return to a matte finish, and if you add more illuminating products it will appear more dewy. So for me this is a must have, I can blot my T-Zone and leave my cheeks and more importantly cheek bones to glow.

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder - Golden Light // £28
This is is my holy grail bronzer, its the perfect amount of warmth and applies so smoothly and blends into my blush and highlight like a dream. I know the price is quite steep for a bronzer but I seriously highly recommend this product. Spring is the time to glow so a good bronzer like this is a necessity.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl // £24.50
This is the most gorgeous illuminating primer I have ever seen, swatched or used - it sinks into the skin leaving behind next to no residue. It gives a gorgeous golden finish which glows through your foundation giving you a 'Glow from Within' look.

Benefit High Beam // £19.50
Spring is the time to banish your powders to bottom of your makeup stash, it's all about light, glowing complexions, and dewy highlights. The pink, silver sheen this gives is perfect for Spring, and if it's too subtle for you, set it with a powdered highlight.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlight // £3.00
This is such a gorgeous cool toned highlight, and more on point price wise. Although Spring is the time to keep your makeup light and fresh, I have not seen a amazing drug store liquid highlight. This is Benefit High Beam in powder form, and layered together you would glow to the moon and back.

ELF Cream Blush - Flirt // £6.50
Cream blushes are perfect for a more sheer finish, they also double up as a lip product too. I find them much more long wearing and subtle looking than a powdered blush. Apply with a stippling brush for a sheer blended flush of colour.

What's your must have Spring complexion product?

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer | Swatches & Review

It seems like a lifetime ago that I bagged The Balm's cult highlighter, but now after weeks of constant non stop wear I'm finally ready to share my thoughts.

This is the most intense highlighter I own, it by far outshines any of my MAC Mineralise Skin Finishes - pun intended. It needs to be applied with a light hand otherwise you run the risk of looking a hot mess. I find a fan brush works perfectly for application, you cant apply too much product this way, and using a fan brush makes me feel fancy - just me?

The colour is a warm, champagne shade, with hints of soft tan, this can be slightly overpowering for paler and cooler complexions, as it can look slightly muddy. But again this is easily remedied by applying with a gentle hand. It applies with a golden finish, so if you love warm highlighter great, if not maybe this isn't the product for you.

The packaging is so cute with the pin up girl's mug shot, on the inside it has a huge mirror, so is extremely handy to take out and about, or if your like me and like to get 2mm away from the mirror when doing your brows. I'm not sure if this is just my compact, but the actual highlighter itself doesn't feel 100% secure in the packaging, I can move and wobble the pan side to side.

I purchased my Mary-Lou Manizer for £14, original price £17.50, from Feel Unique during a sale - they have them quite regularly so just be patient and you could snag yours with a discount too.

What are your thoughts on this highlighter?

Burnt Orange Eye Makeup | YouTube Tutorial

I wanted to try something different on my YouTube channel and use shades which I don't typically wear. I know a lot of make up obsessives love warm colours, but I typically stray to the cool side, so I wanted to mix things up and try an orange eye look - I hope you enjoy.

Save or Splurge | Gel Eyeliners | #2

There are some makeup and beauty products that are of the same quality regardless of the price tag - in this Save or Splurge Series I'll be rummaging through my makeup collection and comparing my high end and drug store products to see if you can save your pennies or if you need to splurge.

You can read my last Save or Splurge Post below

I have quite a large gel eyeliner collection, all a variety of brands and prices, but do you actually need to spend money on an expensive gel eyeliner? This is a hard one to answer because some of my more expensive gel liners have dried out super fast, but so have my couple 'a quid ones. My all time favourite gel eye liner is by Inglot, which I thought would class as a drug store priced product, but when I looked at the price, it retails for £16 which is only a few pounds off MAC and Illamasqua - but if your in the market for a black gel liner I recommend this 100%.

I think the best game plan with gel eyeliners is buying affordable ones if you plan on opening and using several colours at once, but indulge if you plan on using the same colour repeatedly. This way when you open your chartreuse yellow eye liner,  that you bought when you were feeling adventurous - you wont be too heart broken to see its dry and crispy.

What are your thoughts? Would you prefer high end over high street eyeliners?

Drugstore Liquid Lipstick Haul

I'm a liquid lipstick hoarder - there I said it!

I just cannot stop wearing liquid lipsticks, I find them so much more long wearing, pigmented and easy to use. Recently whilst in Boots, I took advantage of a few offers and picked up a few drugstore liquid lipsticks - and I'm loving them.
Left - Right | Dare to Pink | I'll Call You | Kiss Fatal | Play With Fire

I bought four of the Rimmel Provocalips after hearing about them in a Kathleen Lights video - I was watching her YouTube Video in Boots just so I could see what the swatches looked like.

I love the colour range available, there's nudes, brights and vampy dark shades. I picked up 'Dare to Pink' for everyday wear, 'I'll Call You' for day time glam, and 'Kiss Fatal' and 'Play With Fire' for evening and nights out.

I will be doing a full review on these as they definitely deserve it, but just a quick heads up if you are thinking of buying these - they are stupendously long wearing to the point that it is hard to remove them.

Left - Fairy Cake | Right - Candy Cotton

These are my new obsession - can we just take a second to appreciate that these are a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream dupe...at the drugstore...for £2.99! I think these are the most under rated product of the year so far I not heard one single person mention these - Collection obviously haven't done a great job in advertising the release.

The colour range is minimal - four shades in total - one brown shade, one very pale nude and the two pink shades I snagged. 'Fairy Cake' is more on the coral side of pink, and 'Cotton Candy' is my new best friend.

I will be doing a review on the Cream Puff's within the next couple of weeks so be on the look out for that.

What are your thoughts on liquid lipsticks?

Porcelain Queen Archives | No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation | #6

Today I'm back with another post from my Archives series, I love writing these posts as I enjoy reading the original review and seeing if I still feel the same way about the product now, I also like to see how I am progressing with my blog photography.

Click the links below to read the previous posts in the series

Real Technique Brushes #4 Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner #5

For today's post I'll be looking back at my once favourite No 7 Beautifully Matte foundation and seeing if I still feel the same. You can read the original review below

Original No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation Review Here

This foundation marks the breakup between me and MAC, before purchasing this foundation I hadn't used a drug store foundation in years and was happily plodding along with MAC after MAC foundation. And still to this day I do not own a single MAC foundation.

This foundation suits my skin type perfectly, it's mattifying on my oily T-Zone, it provides good coverage and it's long lasting. I knew straight away that I loved this foundation - it looks beautiful for everyday wear and evening wear - it does however have an SPF of 15 so it doesn't photograph all that great.

I haven't worn this foundation in a while simply because it is slightly too dark for my complexion at the minute, I have shade Warm Ivory, but when summer comes and I have a slight tan it'll be perfect.

I've only ever paid full price once for this product and that was when I first bought it, No 7 constantly have offers on so I always picked up 3-for-2 or used a £5 off voucher. I think in total I'm on my seventh bottle!

Have you tried this foundation? What were your thoughts?

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream 'Istanbul' Dupe

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Istanbul' is my holy grail lip product - it's been mentioned in my favourites, its been on my monthly wishlist and its been featured on my YouTube Channel - I love everything about it from the colour, the formula to the way it wears on my lips. However this shade is impossible to get hold of and my product is in it's twilight years and running dangerously low.

But I recently found a complete dupe for my beloved product and my life is complete again...
Left - Collection 'Cotton Candy' | Right - NYX 'Istanbul'

The dupe comes in the form of 'Cotton Candy' Cream Puff from Collection, a drugstore brand - I found mine in Boots for £2.99.

The formulas are identical they apply a soft creamy consistancy which dry to a matte moisturising finish. 'Cotton Candy' is a fraction deeper but to me is an absolute identical dupe.

I will be doing a full review on the Collection Cream Puff range as there the best drug store product I have come across since my L'Oreal True Match foundation.

What do you think to this dupe?

March Beauty Wishlist

Here's what I'm wishing for this month...roll on payday.

Top Left // Gerad Cosmetics Lipstick - Cherry Cordial // $19 / £12.64
I see so many of my favourite YouTuber Beauty Guru's wearing Gerad Cosmetic lip products and one that's really caught my attention is 'Cherry Cordial'. Its such a dark vampy red I love it. I know spring is upon us but makeup isn't about sticking to the rules so move over pastels and fuschia's!

Top Right // Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick - Redrum // £13
As soon as I saw the sneak peak of this shade floating around Instagram I knew I had to have it. I've never seen a liquid lipstick in this colour before and I love it.

Bottom Left // Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Palette - Light // $40 / £26.60
I've always contoured with powder products but I'm so eager to try cream contour and this palette has all the shades for paler complexions. Anastasia Beverly Hills has been so on trend with there makeup launches this year.

Bottom Middle // Ben Nye Luxury Powder - Bananna // £10.95
This is a product I always add to my basket on Love Makeup however I always talk myself out of buying it - mainly because I dont cream contour. When I get my cream contour kit I'll be ordering this to set the highlight shades to give me that extra lift - move over Kim K.

Bottom Right // LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub // £5.50
My lips have been suffering slightly from a mixture of cold weather, central heating and air conditioning so they need some serious TLC. I hear so many great things about the LUSH Bubblegum Scrub and I'm hoping it would give my lips a new lease of life.

What are you wishing for this month?

Facial Oils & Oily Skin - Do they work?

For those of you who read my blog regularly or watch my YouTube Videos - you'll know my skin is a complex patchwork of each skin type stitched inconveniently together, for example, I have extremely sensitive under eyes, normal cheeks and a dry and flaky yet oily forehead. If you have skin like this I feel your struggle.

I recently read an article debating whether moisturising your skin vs not moisturising had any benefits for people with oily skin. I personally cannot skip moisturiser my forehead becomes so tight and itchy so I skipped the later part of the article. But the first half gave me some food for thought - what if I wasn't moisturising my face enough?

I headed to my local Boots and picked up their Botanics 100% Organic Facial Oil - and as instructed on the box I added after toner and before moisturiser. I've used this for around three weeks now and the difference to my skin is remarkable. No longer have I got dry patches which my foundation clings to, and better yet it creates such a healthy but not greasy canvas that my foundation glides on effortlessly. My skin looks more radiant for adding this extra step, my oily T-Zone is somewhat calming down and best of all it didn't trigger any nasty breakouts.

Don't be afraid to add some moisture to your skin care routine - you might be surprised by the results.

Do you use a facial oil?

MAC 'Hot Gossip' Lipstick | Swatches & Review

It dawned on my recently I had one staple item missing from my makeup collection...a nude lipstick.
I have every other colour under the sun, but I do not have that 'my lips but better' colour. Due to my pale complexion I find that pale nudes - the kind that lighten the shade of your lips often make me appear washout and sickly. I wanted a shade I could use for any occasion without a second thought and after a few hundred swatches I found 'Hot Gossip'.

Hot Gossip is the perfect nude for me I can throw it on without even worrying about it not matching the rest of my makeup. It's perfect with dark eye makeup, minimal makeup, work makeup, bright eye makeup and no makeup...you get the point? It has just enough colour and sheen to be subtle, but is buildable if you want more focus on the lips.
Whats your perfect nude?

- This post should have originally been published yesterday however I was struck down with yet another cold bug - I've had flu and two colds so far this year and its only march!

The Ever Changing Makeup Bag | March

You can read my previous 'Ever Changing Makeup Bag' posts below

Last month I tried to incorporate a few products into my every day makeup routine and I did really well this month! My Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick never left my face I got so much use out of it, I even used it in my Valentines Day makeup tutorial on my YouTube channel. I also added my Sudueberry Velvetine into my everyday lipstick holder - so I would reach for it more - and I fell in love with this product all over again. I am completely obsessed with matte liquid lipsticks at the minute and I've purchased more over the past few weeks but none compare to the Velvetines. I wore the Benefit Cream eye shadow once, maybe twice, I've been on such a purple haze craze this past month so I didn't have time for deep metallic browns...whoops

This Months Products //

Left - Right | Pink Peony | Fishnet | Honey | Scratch

Eyes // I rediscovered this cute Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow palette in the back of my dressing table and its got some bright fun colours but also three gorgeous everyday wear shades - I used to love this palette especially the shade 'Scratch' so hopefully I'll enjoying wearing this again this month.

Lips // As Spring is nearly upon us I thought Id crack out an old favourite which is Bobbi Brown's Rich Lip Colour in the shade 'Pink Peony' its such a gorgeous bright pink ideal for shaking off the glum Winter months and stepping into Spring.

Face // My complexion has become increasingly clearer - to the point where I can brave quick trips to the supermarket - so when I saw my MAC Studio Fix I knew I wanted to try wearing powder foundation. I've never dabbled into powder foundations so wish me luck...

I'll post my progress next month and let you know what the new products will be.
